The official procedure or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions.

Etiquette: It is the set of conventional rules of personal behavior in polite society, usually in the form of an ethical code that delineates the expected and accepted social behaviors that accord with the conventions and norms observed by a society, a social class, or a social group. In modern English usage, the French word étiquette dates from the year 1750.

Before she arrived in Arizona, Flora Tromelin was the Chief of Protocol to the U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco. In her role, she had to make sure every interaction that the Ambassador and other senior American diplomats had with Foreign officials respected international Protocol/etiquette. From properly greeting and acknowledging international guests to preparing the appropriate seating charts, Flora’s attention to detail and expertise made a difference and avoided several diplomatic issues.
